Battle Honey - May 25, 2008

We're off to a great start after getting warmed up (and sticky) with Battle Honey. We had an amazing spread, including: John's Very Drunken Shrimp, Kai's Baby Back Ribs, Denise's Baby Back Ribs, Lori's Pulled Chicken, Kai's Foccacia, Pammy's Coleslaw, Melinda's Baked Beans, Denise's Fruit Salad, shots of Honey Bourbon, and Kerry's decadent Honey-Do-Me, Please Do Me Again, Cake.

Are you ready for Round Two???

This week, the Secret Ingredient is Langostino. Langostino is a Spanish word meaning "small lobster" (in Spanish Lobster is called Langosta), but is commonly used in the restaurant trade to refer to the meat of the squat lobster, which is neither a true lobster nor a prawn. It is more closely related to porcelain crabs and hermit crabs. Langostinos are not spiny lobsters despite a similar name.

These may not be readily available, so your dish may substitute lobster, crab, shrimp and/or crawfish.

Let the Battle begin!
