All weekend mornings begin with a Newfy walk. John carries the drool rag, after Diver gives it up.
The boys get mighty thirsty after a long walk.
It was a warm and beautiful morning in America's Finest City, so we decided to drive over the bridge to the Little Italy Farmers' Market, or Little Italy Mercato.
Fresh squash, cherries, and even sea urchins...
A few purchases from the Salt Lady... a sampler featuring Cyprus Mediterranean, Fumee de Sel-Smoked, Cyprus Black Lava, Fleur de Sel, Hawaiian Pink, and Hawaiian Hiwa Kai and a larger jar of Truffle Salt, from Italy.
After listening to a 10 minute sales pitch, we were hooked on the La Provencal Garlic Grater and matching Spice Grinder, from Spain.
John tested it out later when preparing his meatballs
After strolling the Farmers' Market, we were off to Pt. Loma Seafoods for a leisurely lunch and to purchase some fresh squid for John's Concert in the Park dish. This place is always crowded, for good reason.
I love the selection of smoked fish
I usually order the calamari sandwich, but today we had fish sandwiches. The sourdough bread is wonderful, so fresh and soft, with a chewy crust.
We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the marina and city
After a lunch, we made our way back across the bridge to Coronado...
